FACULTY AND STAFF: Faculty Profiles
Jenn Monroe is in her seventh year at Chester College and teaches poetry, creative nonfiction, and professional writing courses, and advanced-level workshops in both poetry and creative nonfiction. She also leads the courses that produce Compass Rose, the College’s literary journal, and READ THIS, a student-run news and events blog.
Jenn strives to be a poet of love in all its forms, and her most current work is dedicated to this exploration. Her first chapbook of poems, Something More Like Love, will be published by Finishing Line Press in December. Her newest work can be found in Sakura Review, Shaking Like a Mountain, Poets for Living Waters, Permafrost, Big Lucks, and Magnapoets. She is the host of the monthly poetry open mic night at Crackskulls Coffee & Books in Newmarket, NH, and frequently reads her work at events around the region.
Jenn holds an MFA in poetry from New England College, an MA in English with a concentration in creative writing from The College of Saint Rose, and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from St. Bonaventure University. She’s originally from Western, NY, but has found her true home in New Hampshire.
