Dr. Shari Litch Gray, Associate Professor of Science and Math and Chair of Integrated Liberal Studies, has been actively engaged in creating courses in science and math that are attractive to students in the visual arts. She has attended a number of summer workshops at Harvard University and the University of New Hampshire that help faculty develop their courses across interdisciplinary lines. In April 2008, she was awarded a $60,000 grant from the Davis Foundation to revitalize the College’s science laboratory to allow for further integration of art into the science curriculum. In 2007 she was the recipient of the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Award. In May 2006, she attended a workshop at the STEM Institute in Maine, which promoted the integration of socially conscious issues into the curriculum of courses in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
