WOW, things sure have changed. Like the name change too. An old farm house and a barn were the extent of the facilities when I was there. Still hay in the barn with a new cafeteria in the basement. I remember sitting in Dr. Preston’s office, many times, discussing grades and my work study program. If you have the Silver Trustee’s Award Bowl hanging around somewhere, my name should be the second one down. There were about 15 students and, I believe, the first graduation class had seven graduates. Talk about not being able to hide, especially from Dr. Preston and the her office personnel. White Pines College sure has come a long way. I knew it would.

Hi Everyone, Chester College? I thought it was White Pines College :) I think Chester sounds a little better all around. But White Pines worked for me. Has anyone seen Amy Barner (political Science Guru) or I am sure it’s Dr. by now George Gilfeather. I’d like for them to know their words of encouragement and support are still appreciated to this day.

Hi Jeff Giles President of Richardson House and photographer extraordinaire. Did you marry Kathy A.?

Jeffery A. Giles [Photojournalism]
What ever happened to the class of 1976? Has anyone thought of having a reunion? This year would be 30 years. What happened to Tricia, Marcia, Katie, Bea, Buzzy, Carol, Lenny, Mark, Gwen, Christopher and Francis and the rest?

Marcia Crook (Cipullo) [Human Services]

Hey Jeff,

Where is every one? I do know where Bea and Trish are but as for anyone else haven’t heard from them in 30 years.

Can you believe that!!!!! Almost seems like yesterday,(Almost).

Maureen (Mo) Young [Child Care]
Hey class of 1976! I would love to have a reuniuon. Nettie and I are still in contact, but I have lost touch with everyone else over the years. Does anyone know where Michael Shepard lives? Marcia, Lenny and Jeff-good to see your messages! Are any of you on facebook? MY God, has it really been over 30 years? Let’s do it!

Hello. This school has really grown since I graduated from White Pines College in 1988. No doubt Faith Preston would be proud. I am doing very well. I am a certified elementary education teacher, with a strong focus on technology. I am working on my Masters of Education in Learning and Technology and expect to graduate next fall. It’s good to see how much my alma mater has grown and to see how much is now offered in the way of academics compared to when I attended. I hope Chester College continues to grow and wish you all the best.

Although I didn’t graduate, I did move on to be successful. I am married, 10yrs. and have two beautiful daughters. I still meet with 2 or 3 of my classmates from WPC and go fishing every year. I hope to hear from someone, or see a posting from someone from my generation at the college. I can’t be the only curious one. I had some of the best times of my young life at Douglas Hall and made friends who have included me in weddings and still keep in contact to this day. I am glad to see the college has perservered and grown and hope my classmates have too.

I am a ’92 White Pines College (as Chester College used to be known) grad; and carried on to get my BS at New Hampshire College & Master’s from UNH. I am pleased to share the information that my Univ. of New Hampshire Master’s project, Prancing Paintings; the Romance of the Sleigh: a study of art on sleighs & sleighing in America, is being published in its entirety as a special issue of Carriage Driving World magazine. Although the issue is going out to all subscribers, single copies of this special issue of the magazine may be purchased directly through the web site: www.carriagedrivingworld.com or by contacting the magazine at Carriage Driving World Magazine, P.O. Box 36, Springtown, TX 76082.

I will be celebrating the publication of my first fiction work; a murder-mystery titled “A Case of Overkill.” The mystery is in the traditional old-style, featuring an amateur sleuth, intriguing characters, isolated setting, and an array of clues provided for the reader to try to ‘solve the puzzle’ before the final chapter. The story does include some great adventures, and will be a super read for those that love an old-time mystery, or for those interested in rock climbing, hiking, or wildlife.

Release date is scheduled for late June of this year, and A Case of Overkill will be available at Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble bookstores.

I feel like I should be updating MySpace too. Though little has changed… still at the consulting firm, still in NJ. But apparently the new trend in these things is to mention Casey and Tyler. Hello.

Hope we can get together sometime soon- everyone.

Hi Gang! Starting to form a reunion of sorts for the summer! I have found a lot of you on MySpace. If you are interested let me know through the school!

My children have nearly grown up and are beginning college careers of their own! So nice to catch a glimpse in the lives of you all! I’d love to attend a reunion…if only we could track down Susan Henthorne!

I have been steadily working towards my CPA. School is tough at this age. :o ) I would love to hear what everyone else has been up to, exspecially Shawna and Jessica. We lost touch sometime back in 1999.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven’t been in touch with any of my fellow classmates. I’ve been busy the past seven years. I got a job about a month after graduation, working for a local newspaper as the graphic designer, plus I manage a copy center in the same building that is owned by the paper. I have a son, Austen Montegomery Keyser, born September 21, 2001. Got married to a beautiful woman, Loni, on July 19, 2003. Was involved in a motor vehicle accident the morning of my wedding. Don’t worry-the wedding went on without a hitch. Bought a house in Pittsburg, NH and have lived there 4 years. Other than that things are going great.

Peace-Out

Shawna K. (McGarvey) Johnson [Photography]
I guess the biggest & best thing that has happen to me since college was: meeting the right man and having a beautiful son. Now we currently live on the east coast of North Carolina, due to my husband serving in the United States Marines Corps, stationed at Camp Lejeune. Being in a military family we have a lot of opportunity to travel when our son gets a little older… we are excited for things to come.

I came to the site looking for contact info for Kathy Neff-Ragsdale, she was a journalism teacher when I was there. I am looking into freelance work for local publications and it would be nice to use her as a reference, seeing as she thought what I produced was quality. I also I wanted to ask her advice, she was a writer for the Derry News but from my look at there site I could not find her to still be there. If someone could contact me with a way to reach her I would really apreciate it.

As for me and how I am since college. I’m surviving, I don’t have a fancy job from my degree, I wasn’t expecting one anyway. What I do have Is a home and a dog and a very relaxed lifstyle which alows me to be my creative self and that’s all I need. I would like to get into teaching not at the college level I don’t plan on getting a masters. I want to teach seventh grade reading I am not knowlegeable of the process at which to approach this desire of mine so any coaching in the area of teacher certification would be appreciated.

I didn’t get married, and I didn’t have any kids. As for what I do I’d rather not get into it, I’ve been up and down with finances but that’s all apart of being a first time homeowner. As for my work, I create it very few see, or read it, I do not do online social networking and have yet to find a venue in my area. I am however close to being more apart of the art community, I just need to actually dip my toes in the water again i did before i did’nt like it.

Thank you please respond if not to anything else, I realy would love to get in touch with Kathy, Thank you.

Hollie Hill [Photography]
Hello! After moving back to NY and then back to NH again, and after several good and bad jobs, I have started my business titled Hollie Hill Photography. Yeah I know, wicked original but let’s face it, my name is catchy and it sounds good! Well it’s going well, living like a rockstar and creating images almost everyday, while during the day I substitute teach all around Derry. I am now just waiting on Chester College to offer a Masters program so I can continue my education.

Jessie O’Donnell [Photography]
Where am I and what am I doing? I moved to South Florida and I am loving every minute! I live with two friends 1 mile away from the beach and have launched my own photography business. I work out of my home. I have a schedule of jobs that I have been hired for from weddings to many individual requests. I have also been making unique handmade books upon request (much thanks to Nancy Diessner). I am making good money and having fun in the process. Most of my hiring is due to word of mouth. Thanks to all my professors; especially Diessner and Matsumoto. Thank you!!!

Hey everyone! I am back living in Maine where I belong. I have the most amazing 18 month old boy who has changed my life so much. I got married this past June and am loving every minute of being a mom, step-mom (to a 9 year old), and wife. I am kinda out numbered in the house, but I don’t know where I’d be without my 3 boys. I am currently working at a historical Inn in North Conway and shooting a few weddings here and there. I love my wonderful family and am loving life in the white mountains!

I also got married on June 5, 2005, to my high school sweetheart, Jeff. We’re living in Manchester with our cutie-pie kitty Sophie.

Hello everyone! Well my summer has been really hectic, working 3 jobs, one of which is my own photography business. The business was started in early August of 2005, and right now I am building the store merchandise, getting my photographs shot, worked on and printed. My work is also going to be displayed at Bilancia Gallery on West Pearl Street in Nashua, NH throughout October, starting on September 3rd … The actual date of the opening is October 15, and all that want to attend are welcome. I will be at the opening on the 15th, so any support that I can receive would be great, and if you would pass around the information about the gallery that would be excellent PR as well. Well I hope everyone’s summer is going well, and I will be stopping by the school from time to time to see everone….I miss you all….Take care and best wishes..

Hello Everyone,

Life has been busy after Chester College. I have had a few jobs with school day photography, a couple of photo labs jobs and even a camera sales person. I’ve had shows in a few local galleries and do various freelance photography jobs.

However, last year I put all that aside and decided to go back to school to become a Medical Assistant. I have just graduated my medical program and searching for a new job. I do plan to go back and continue photography on the side when I get more settled in my new career.

I’m now engaged and will be getting married in 2011. I have a happy life :)

Thank you Chester College for being a great school.

Since graduating in 2005, I left my longterm position at the Eagle-Tribune in Lawrence, Mass. to pursue full-time employment closer to home. I currently work as a loan officer at Service Credit Union in Rochester. I’ve been employed here over a year and read and write in my own time. I married a wonderful Italian man–musician, creator and rebel–Halloween ’06 and our first child is due next month, April 26, ’07. We live in a vast farmhouse in Lebanon, ME, surrounded by 30 acres of woods.

Hello!

I am currently working at Service Credit Union as a Special Accounts Rep…i call and ask people for money for a living. I also photograph weddings on the side as well as family portraits and things of the like. Also trying to get my photography company on the road.

In May I am moving to Martha’s Vineyard with my boyfriend to try something different and hopefully start my career as a full time artist. Hope everyone is well!

Well I’m married now, so my new name is Jacqueline Berrios and I’m actually expecting my 1st child.

I currently work for Stone Academy in Hamden Connecticut. I’m an admissions representative. I love it because I sell education and you can’t go wrong with that. I freelance for my graphic and web design. I designed Melissa Bento’s wedding invitations.

Just wanted to give an update on what I was up to! I am currently still in the Boston area working at a Travel and Leisure marketing firm. I am planning my wedding for 2009 currently, as for the art world I am working on a few new pieces from my small apartment. And I hope to have another show in the fall of my work. I hope everyone is doing well!

Love

Mel

It’s been two years, and I will be graduating from SNHU with an MFA in Fiction this July. I continue to write and submit, amidst the delicious insanity of two daughters and a loving wife. I recently won the 2009 SNHU MFA Prize in Amoskaeg Magazine with an excerpt from my thesis, ‘Trust Me: Confessions of a Used Car Salesman.’ When I’m not writing, I’m holed-up in my woodshop, trying to build a better birdhouse.

Since graduating I spent a semester at Montserrat, but decided to lay off the schooling to take care of business, and now I’m looking forward to the release of RoadKill this summer, and I’m plugging away at a new start up, CBC Consulting Group which is tied into Ravensgawk Studio (which was founded with help from CCNE.)

Courtney Brown [Grahpic Design]
Thanks for everything everyone did there for me through the years, I am still grateful. I’m working as a graphic designer/ Administrative Assistant in concord at Cornerstone Association Management Firm. Thank you Chester for getting me where i am today, you all rock ;)

I am currently working a steady temp job, which gives me time to work on my writing. Speaking of which, Ad Hoc Monadnock online recently accepted three of my poems at http://www.adhocmonadnock.org/CurrentIssueTOC.html. Check the poems out, since the site also accepts fiction around the Southern NH region. Hope all is well with everyone.
